Summary[]

World Duel Carnival gets started with Yuma get hit by a football, which is covered with Duel Monster cards, shot in the face. The football was Kakeru Kunitachi who thinks his football would have decided who his first opponent would be: Yuma. Therefore Kakeru asks Yuma to a duel and sets his Heart Piece. Yuma naturally takes up the challenge and in turn his Heart Piece. Caswell then considered it as occurs Kakeru's name known. After both have completed their preparations for the duel begins.

Yuma takes the first turn and sets a monster face down in defense Mode (Gogogo Golem). Astral admit this was a good first turn, which was very unusual for Yuma. Kakeru Kunitachi then continues and activates the Field Spell, Dream Pitch. Field then changed into a Soccer Stadium. Yuma suddenly wearing a Soccer jersey, Tori was wearing cheerleader uniform and Cathy & Caswell are dressed as Commutators. Through the magic box, Monster can not be played face down which forces Gogogo Golem into face-up Defense Position. Next Kakeru plays Capitan Wing(1100/1100) followed by the Spell Card "killer Pass" that doubles the ATK of his monster and cancels the effects of an opponent's monster. He then destroys Gogogo golem and Yuma takes Capitan Wings effect because the difference between attack and defense as damage. Kakeru places a card face-down and end his turn. Yuma is on with his turn, He Normal Summons Gagaga Magician (ATK 1500). Yuma tries to destroy Captain Wing with Gagaga Magician, which succeeds but Kakeru activates the Trap Card "Offside Trap". This cancels the destruction of his monster and the damage would have taken the Kakeru while this has no other Spell or Trap card in his Spell and Trap Card Zone. Yuma is also forced to immediately end his turn.

Astral makes his observation watching Soccer and says that probably needs to be something strong. Where Yuma is complains that this is not the moment to admire the opponent. Kakeru's turn again and plays Striker Top (ATK 2000). This is a level 5 monster, but he can be summoned without tribute since Dream Pitch is on the field. Next Kakeru destroyed Gagaga Magician with Strikers Top and then makes a direct attack with Captain Wing which Yuma still remain 1700 Life Points. After his battle phase, He activates "Eye Contact", adding "Offside Trap" from his Graveyard to his hand. He Sets one card face-down again and finished his turn. Yuma is in despair because even if he defeats Kakeru's monster, this card can make its case, the whole again undone. Yuma asks whether Astral would sleep or he could finally give him advice. Astral then explained that he would not sleep, but think about this Soccer thing thoroughly.

Shortly thereafter, two men appear at the Kakeru view him sympathetically. As Caswell recognizes both as Soccer stars, Kazu and Hide Kuintachi. Both play in a team which is coached by their father (Shigure Kuintachi), which is also quite famous. Therefore Caswell knew the last name of Kakeru. It turns out that the two are Karkeu's older brothers and are known for perfect team game. Yuma finds it fascinating that Kakeru comes from such a famous Soccer family. But this will with his brothers and his father can not be thrown into the same pot as for him Teamwork means nothing. Kakeru then explained that he therefore preferred duels as these require no teamwork. On the field, you can only trust yourself why duel for him was much better. But Yuma thinks that Kakeru strongly on this point and that it is wrong in the duel there is also about teamwork, with Astral seems to come with an idea. Meanwhile Yuma says further that eventually Capitan Wing and Striker Top are in the same team as Kakaru is. Last but not least Yuma explained that he always trusts his monster because they were a team. Astral said then that it was time for their counterattack.

And finally, Astral advises Yuma to activate "Cross Attack" letting "Zubaba Buster" attack directly since both it and "Gogogo Golem" have the same ATK, though "Gogogo Golem" may not attack this turn (Kakeru 4000 → 2200). Furthermore, He then activates the effect of "Zubaba Buster", destroying "Captain Wing" as it has the lowest ATK of the monsters on Kakeru's field and "Zubaba Buster" inflicted Battle Damage, though its own ATK decreases by 800, to 1000. Yuma then activates "Runaway Explosion", inflicting 500 damage to Kakeru as 1 of his monsters was destroyed via a card effect (Kakeru 2200 → 1700). He Sets a card.

Kakeru then says that Yuma is not the same should get a soaring since he had just destroyed the most useless monster of him. Yuma can not believe that Kakeru's monster is still not regarded as his friend and so talking about them. But Kakeru says that everyone who is useless is not a friend of him. This leads to a flashback where Kakeru's brothers watch him at a Soccer game. Gets into a trouble making some mistakes and not depend on his teammates. When he finally has the ball before he storms alone and is followed quickly by many players. His teammates were indeed free but Kakeru is not the passing the ball because he did not trust them and believe that they will lose if he pass the ball to them. Shortly afterwards he is straddled, falls and loses the ball before it's game. His teammates then came to him and gave him a hand to get up, but hit Kakeru away. He gave them the blame for the defeat, calling them all as useless then his brothers came. This mean that Kakeru the only one on the field would be the currently useless. Finally, Soccer is a team game and requires teamwork, and as long as it would not have concepts should not enter the field. Since that day, Kakeru has quit the soccer, but he vowed to one day surpass his brothers.

Back in the presence, Kakeru explains that team members or teammates would only get in the way. Therefore, he would choose duel instead of Soccer. But Yuma replied that this was not true and Kakeru should be honest with themselves. Yuma says Kakeru in this truth very like Soccer and therefore assembled such a strong Soccer deck, and that Kakeru also knew how important teamwork is because the cards would support each other well. Kakeru is then confused and wondering if he had found in his deck really a team. Kakeru then makes his turn. He then Normal Summons "Defender Libero" (100/2200). Its Level is increased by 1, to 5 as "Dream Pitch" is face-up. He activates "Team Play". As "Defender Libero" and "Striker Top" are both Level 5 and have the same Type, he may Special Summon a monster from his Graveyard of the same Type as those two monsters and increase its Level by 1. He Special Summons "Captain Wing" from his Graveyard in Attack Position with its Level increased to 5. He overlays his three Level 5 monsters to Xyz Summon "Fantasista Dieci" (2600/2500) in Attack Position. It attacks "Zubaba Buster", but Yuma activates his face-down "Half Unbreak", preventing its destruction by battle this turn and halving any Battle Damage from battles involving it (Yuma 1700 → 900).

Kakeru finished his turn and Yuma's turn. Yuma is still safe and thinks that wining the World Duel Carnival is really great when you meet such a strong opponent. Kakeru wonders why Yuma was so confident of victory still. Yuma, declares that he will win as long as he believes in his comrades, what Kakeru must smile. Yuma plays then Gagaga Girl and uses them as well Zubaba Buster for a Xyz Summon, Muzurhythm the String Djinn (ATK 1500). Then activates the Spell Card Giant Killing, since Kakeru can not activate Spell or Trap Cards on this turn. In addition, through the Spell Card, the ATK of Kakeru's Monster is cut in halved since Kakerus life points higher than those of Yuma. Yuma detaches an Xyz Material from his Xyz Monster and so doubles the ATK to 3000. Yuma attacks hits Kakeru, and Kakeru is flying by attacking the goal.
